7 billion blind people nod in agreement: they sense, they feel that there is something more.

VERSE 1 · almost everyone senses, feels that there is something more…

7 billion blind people tap their canes in rhythm,
they've set out on the road, blood pulsing in their temples.
They started out blind, looking for the something more they'd heard of,
for colours and lights, not just darkness and nothing else.
Only they can't touch a sunset, however high they jump,
they can't stroke a rainbow, wherever they walk.
And still, past the edge of the dark, they feel that something is there,
7 billion blind people nod in agreement.

And that's saying something, that many people never agree,
never, nowhere, on anything, and certainly not
on the basics, on whether the Earth is round
and whether it overheats when you wrap it in plastic.
On one thing they agree, one thing they know,
and no, it isn't the question of meaning or the number of genders.
Past the edge of the dark they feel that something is there,
7 billion blind people nod in agreement.

Chorus:
They do have a sixth sense,
even while they fight against it,
they sense, they feel that there is something more.
(Someone more.)

VERSE 2 · give us another sense and we'll discover another nature

7 billion blind people tap their canes in rhythm,
they've set out on the road, blood pulsing in their temples.
The clever minds expected people to grow up, to turn modern,
to put religion aside like a childhood lisp,
only a hundred years on faith is still here,
the mistake dissolved halfway through its take-off.
Faith is even supposed to be growing in numbers,
a second of silence for every one of you who used to be an atheist.

The blind knock at heaven's gate, wherever they sense it,
they push and pound with the strength of a flea, of a fly.
They demand one extra sense,
and each sense means a new nature, so to speak.
And behind one single sense God is hidden,
the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Chorus:
They've got a sixth sense, I reckon,
however hard they fight against it,
they sense, they feel that there is something more.
(Someone more.)

VERSE 3 · God lives in heaven and heaven is not far away

7 billion blind people tap their canes in rhythm,
a warm welcome to you all in augmented reality,
where heaven isn't far away but just round the corner,
right here where you're standing, only behind a veil.
Go on, demand one extra sense,
and each sense means a new nature, so to speak.
And behind one single sense God is hidden,
the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
(and that sense inside a person is God's own Spirit)

Chorus:
They've got a sixth sense, I reckon,
however hard they fight against it,
they sense, they feel that there is something more.
(Someone more.)
